Great spot, perfect place for the kids to stretch their legs on a long drive. Impressive for the price and just a wonderful setup. Nice museum all the way around
We needed a break while driving from Denver to Topeka. This looked like more than the usual roadside stop. It turned out to be an excellent museum featuring the natural history of central Kansas. Exhibits featured live reptiles in terrariums, dioramas showing what was in the area millions of years ago, and life size replicas of dinosaurs, including an animated T rex. A discovery room provides hands-on learning. We had to hit the road after 45 minutes, and we'll go back. Admission was $7 for seniors 60 and over, and well worth it.
A very fun and educational organization for Kids and Adults of all ages. Don't forget to stop by the gift shop. The Staff and Volunteers are very friendly. Levi the Alligator snapping Turtle is in the front lobby as you come into the Museum.
$9 for adults. A great place to stretch your legs and see something, anything, while driving through the state. Interesting fossils and displays showing Kansas life back when it was under the ocean.
I was totally surprised by the collection of local fossils and awesome life sized models they have on display. They also have a great fossil dig box for kids. The information is very well researched, up to date, and educational. A worthwhile visit for any age.
