We were stuck in Hays for awhile with a busted car. We were worried about finding food with all of us gluten free. We were excited to find Pasta Jay’s had gf options. Unfortunately they really take advantage of their gf customers. They charge an extra $3 on top of their fairly overpriced (adult meal) pasta. This is somewhat understandable for an adult meal but they did the same for the children’s portions which meant the $2 kid meals was now $5. That’s more than twice as much. Ridiculous! Will never eat at any Pasta Jay’s in the future.
The food and service were both the best we have had in Hays in quite awhile. I highly recommend the Crab Mac & Cheese.
The waiter we had was nice but I had issues with my meal. I went with my sister and her boyfriend. I thought about ordering a steak but I’m very particular about how I like it cooked so I was going to order something else. The waiter told me that they could cook my steak the way I wanted it. My sister warned them how I am about steaks. Needless to say my steak was not cooked the way I wanted it. I had to send it back three times and still was not done correctly. I was frustrated so I didn’t send it back the fourth time as my sister was almost done eating. I had figured that after so many problems with my meal, the steak would be free or at least discounted. We were still charged full price for my meal. If I had problems with my steak at Applebee’s, they gave it to me free and a manager would come by. Very disappointed with my meal. I probably won’t be going back. They do not have the best steaks in town as the menu states.
First time we have been at this restaurant. Good food and a good selection. Prices are very reasonable. Looked to be a fairly new restaurant. The hotel we stayed at recommended it.
Nice environment and bar. Service is good, but food not so much. We’ve given it a few chances and just how the food is prepared makes it so it is always over cooked and burnt.
