Hidden gem in Hays. A very nice walking trail and nature area. I was very surprised by it. One major down side is you can hear and see traffic on the interstate.

This park may have been nice when first created, but aside from the tree identification, it is merely a flood plain with the remnants of a path. There was a nice variety of birds and not many bugs. Not much shade.
Natural area with tree identification along the trails. Short trail route is .5 miles. Long trail route is 1.1 miles.

I agree that it currently is just a mere flood plain. We walked the short trail and there was lots of overgrowth that we could barely see a trail. Not sure if the short path joins back up with the original trail so we just turned around. If the path could be more identifiable then we would walk it more. Plus if there would be a sign at the main road it would help. We drove right by it a few times.
