The food is good especially the broccoli and cheese soup. They also do the best they can to keep the customers happy within reason.
Traveling on I70 and saw sign and looked up on their website for hours open, it states 9:30am, so we got off just to go and went in at 10 am and they were not open. Said not until 10:30. We told them to fix website and we left upset.
Really tasty sandwich. It was HUGE, but filled to the max with meat and lettuce. The food was fresh, and i really liked the sauce available.
There are several items on the menu I would like to try in the future. I wish the cashier had recommended the option to try 2 halves of the menu items. I think this place could be great but if I went back and that same person was at the register I would just walk back out. She totally ruined my first impression for this place and should not be working up front.
Good Schlotzsky's. Nice for somethinv besides gast food if you are traveling on I-70. Easy to get to off of I-70. Just North of the Interstate in the service station next to the Home Depot. I was there driving to Denver on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the restaurant was very crowded. Despite this they were able to get food out quickly.
However, most shocking to me was the treatment of another customer I witnessed while standing at the counter. An older, well dressed, and soft spoken woman approached and said that she thought they may have forgotten an ingredient on her sandwich. The cashier went to the back (I assumed to retrieve a piece of bacon to fix the problem) but returned to callously inform the woman that the kitchen said they DID put it on there. She just dismissed her. WOW!
Excited to try this place that was enthusiastically recommended by friends. I was impressed with the menu, but being there for the first time, I was seeking advice, and the cashier was in no mood to give it. Since another customer stepped in line behind me I impulsively ordered a sandwich and chips quickly. The cashier seemed annoyed that I needed her to list the chip flavors to make a choice so I just choose the first one I understood while she listed them as fast as possible. I took a paper menu to review later. My sandwich was good. The pretzel bun was outstanding. The sandwich was warm. I prefer a little more flavor but it was still good. Chips were also good. Pickle was a little chewy and difficult to bite through. I saw a cookie in the menu I wished I had ordered, so before leaving I went to order one. The cashier was still annoyed to have customers. I was told to serve myself and when I asked if I had chosen the right one, her response was, "it's written on the bottom." The cookie was about double what I expected to pay and was too dry and lacking flavor. In all I spent about $14 on a French Dip, chips and a bad cookie, which seems pretty high. At least the sandwich was served on a plate.
